So we can remember them fondly, here is a compiled list of some of the many musicians and industry veterans who passed away in 2018. May they all Rest In Eternal Peace.
Edwin Hawkins was an American Gospel musician, pianist, choir master, composer and arranger. He was one of the originators of the urban contemporary Gospel sound. He is probably best known for his arrangement of the Gospel classic “Oh Happy Day.”
Alexander Sevastian was a well-known virtuoso Russian-Canadian accordionist. Much of his early education and early career was in Russia before relocating to Canada in 2001. Sevastian won numerous prestigious accordion competitions and developed an impressive and extensive worldwide solo career.
Joe Osborn was an American bass guitar player known for his work as a session musician in Los Angeles and Nashville during the 1960s and through the 1980s. Early in his career, Osborn spent years with both Ricky Nelson and Johnny Rivers, after which he focused on studio work in Los Angeles full-time.
Peter Cowling was an English bass guitarist, best known for his work with Canadian blues rock guitarist Pat Travers.
