Merle Haggard

Merle Haggard was an American country singer, songwriter and guitarist. Along with Buck Owens, Haggard helped create the Bakersfield sound, which is characterized by the twang of the Fender Telecaster mixed with the sound of the pedal steel guitar, vocal harmony styles in which the words are minimal, and a rough edge not heard on the more polished Nashville sound recordings of the same era.

Leonard Cohen

Leonard Cohen was a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet and novelist. His work explored religion, politics, isolation, sexuality and romantic relationships. Cohen was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
