Joe Osborn was an American bass guitar player known for his work as a session musician in Los Angeles and Nashville during the 1960s and through the 1980s. Early in his career, Osborn spent years with both Ricky Nelson and Johnny Rivers, after which he focused on studio work in Los Angeles full-time. He quickly became a “first-call” bassist among Los Angeles studio musicians and became an integral part of the infamous Wrecking Crew. His playing can be heard on records by the Mamas & The Papas, The Association, The Grass Roots, The 5th Dimension, Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkel, The Carpenters, Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams, Jr. and so many others.
